My art topic is praying and I started it in 2000. I became interested in this topic because of Finukan (which is when people can connect to the Okinawa kitchen god, though the medium of incense burning) and which I saw and touched my ancestor 's bones at my mother's family's grave site.

　Finukan changed me and I became interested in Okinawa folklore ceremony. The ancestors bones gave me a chance to think about Family, changing gender roles, life and death. This time, I have created images of 1) a grave which separates this world from that world 2) family, specially changing gender roles and 3) Okinawa contemporary problems.

　 I am using 1944 U.S. military goods, life products and part of a crashed helicopter. on August 13th, 2004 a U.S. military 's helicopter crashed down at Okinawa International University. I hope you feel what connects the two worlds, and something that belongs to nowhere when look at my art.

２０００年から祈りをテーマに創作、表現を始めました。

　大きなきっかけとしては、火之神（香炉、竈神）が私の家にやって来たことと、母方のお墓に関する行事があり、祖先のお骨を見たり触ったりしたことです。

　私にとって火之神は沖縄の民俗行事を受け入れる要素となり、祖先のお骨は家族観やジェンダー、人生や死ぬことについて考える機会を与えてくれました。

　今回、センターＡでの発表はお墓をイメージしながら、此岸と彼岸などの世界を分けること、反転することなど沖縄の現状をなどを表現しました。

　素材としては、１９４４年の米軍が使っていた水筒やマスケット（お弁当箱兼フライパン）、日用品、去年（２００４年８月１３日）沖縄国際大学に墜落したヘリコプターのパーツなどを使いました。

　作品を観て、何がこの世とあの世をつなげているのか、あるいはどこにも属さない何かを感じて下されば幸いです。
